For too long, I held on to the belief that hard work = money. I still intensely value quality work, creativity, and accountability but have seen how 1) it isn't true and 2) it doesn't serve me. It's hard to let go of sometimes, though!
I'm grateful for the work ethic I was raised with, but there's a difference between "doing the work" (and to your point, ensuring it's quality work) and hard work.
It's definitely hard to let go of sometimes, which is why I love what I'm learning about neuroscience. If we can create new neural pathways, we can change old behaviors. :-)
